PVRIS Champions Female/Non-Binary Artists in New Collab Mixtape, ‘F.I.L.T.H.’

| | ,

Welcome to a new era of PVRIS. Lyndsey Gunnulfsen embarks on a sonic journey with the release of an all new EP, ‘F.I.L.T.H.’. The new mixtape features and was crafted by all female, non-binary, and queer personnel, including engineers, producers, and featured artists.

Notable features include LIGHTS, Tommy Genesis, Alice Longyu-Gao, Mothica, Uffie, and Sizzy Rocket. After touring much of 2024 across the UK, EU, and America, PVRIS is back and ready to do what she does best: releasing meaningful songs.

Lyndsey Gunnulfsen shares, “‘F.I.L.T.H.’ is a self-produced collaborative music project between friends and past tour-mates. I wanted to make a small project where some other female/non-binary artists could hop into the world of PVRIS and vice-versa, have as much control over the lyrics and music as they wanted and simply just have fun making some music together.

Everyone had free rein to write what they wanted and add their own voice (figuratively and literally) to each track. All songs were created, mixed, mastered by women/non-binary friends and all were written and produced at home in my apartment and then completed on the road while on tour. Wish there was more time to make even more… I hope to do more projects like this in the future!

I think I’ve truly been in hundreds of writing/producing sessions at this point in my career and I can recall less than 20 of those that were with female writers and around 10 that were with female producers. From labels and publishers to management, there is so little advocacy to get artists into rooms with women in general.

It’s even rarer to see the same advocacy towards connecting and putting only women in a room together, especially without it being made into a commodity, “special event”  or task to check off. These collaborations should be happening organically regardless of who is watching.
